About me.

Stephanie Singh is a Toronto-based interdisciplinary textile designer who focuses on sustainable practices of natural dyes and plant matter to curate surface designs. A recent graduate of OCADU Master’s of Interdisciplinary Art, Media and, Design Stephanie’s love of sustainable craft enables a profound appreciation for mother earth as the original artist and designer.

“As a interdisciplinary textile designer, I transform flower waste into permanent works of art, celebrating the beauty and resilience of nature. By preserving discarded plants, petals, leaves, stems and roots, I create unique and bespoke forms that challenge traditional notions of waste. My work is a dialogue between the transient and the lasting, inviting viewers to find beauty in the unexpected and fostering a deeper connection with the natural world. Through sustainable practices, I aim to honour our planet and inspire mindful use of materials.

“I live for the truth of sustainability and the need to understand there is no such thing as ''away'' when we throw away. This venture of textiles has drawn my lifestyle to flower cycling and the recycling of material that already exists. When using what already exists we can evolve these materials making them into something new. Foraging, networking, and educating others in the community with my skill set and techniques lend us to have more compassion for material waste and responsibility for the world we live in.”
